CivicSense: AI Public Stress Monitor Sys

AI-powered civic system to report complaints, detect fake issues, and analyze area-wise stress levels for smarter city governance and faster resolutio

TRL: 5

Stage: Prototype Development

  • What Problem Are We Solving

Urban areas face major challenges in managing public complaints related to infrastructure such as road damage, water supply issues, garbage management, and street lighting. Traditional complaint systems are often slow, inefficient, and lack transparency, leading to unresolved issues and increasing public frustration. Additionally, many systems fail to prioritize complaints based on urgency, and fake or duplicate complaints reduce system efficiency.

Our project, CivicSense, addresses these problems by providing a smart complaint management system integrated with AI-based stress analysis. It allows citizens to submit complaints with proper details and proof, while authorities can monitor and resolve them efficiently through a centralized dashboard. The system analyzes complaint data to identify high-stress areas and prioritize actions accordingly. It also introduces AI-based validation to detect fake or irrelevant complaints, improving data reliability.

By enabling faster response, better decision-making, and transparent communication, CivicSense improves urban governance and enhances citizen satisfaction.

    Who Are the Customers

The primary customers for CivicSense are government bodies, municipal corporations, and smart city authorities responsible for managing urban infrastructure and public services. These organizations require efficient systems to handle citizen complaints and improve service delivery.

Secondary customers include citizens who benefit from faster complaint resolution and improved transparency. Additionally, private organizations involved in smart city development and urban analytics can also adopt this system to enhance their services.

  • CivicSense is an AI-powered smart complaint management and stress analysis system designed to improve urban governance. The system is built using a modern full-stack architecture, with an Angular-based frontend, ASP.NET Core backend, and SQL Server database for data storage.

The platform allows users to register and submit complaints by providing details such as complaint type, area (ward), severity level, and supporting proof in the form of images or videos. Each complaint is stored in the database and tracked with a status such as Pending, In Progress, or Resolved.

An admin dashboard provides authorities with a comprehensive view of all complaints, including statistics like total complaints, pending cases, resolved cases, and area-wise distribution. Interactive charts and reports help identify trends and high-priority areas.

A key innovation of CivicSense is the integration of AI-based stress analysis. The system analyzes complaint frequency, severity, and response time to calculate a stress level (Low, Medium, High) for different areas. This helps authorities proactively address issues before they escalate.

Additionally, the system includes a mechanism for detecting fake or irrelevant complaints using AI-based validation of uploaded media. This ensures data authenticity and reduces misuse of the platform.

The system is designed to be scalable and can be integrated with existing government systems through APIs. Future enhancements include predictive analytics, real-time alerts, and mobile app integration.
